Quality products for the windscreen replacement industry,
with friendly, customer focused service, to ensure your
complete satisfaction - guaranteed.
Many modern vehicles have their windscreens onded at the point of manufacture with High Modulus polyurethane adhesive that meets the DIN 54451 standard.
This advanced technology increases the torsional stability of the vehicle, which means better safrty, reduced noise and increased comfort for the passenger.
The electrial resistance of the bonding system is important on vehicles constructed of aluminimun. Low conductive systems are recommended for use with vehicles with an integrated antenna or other electrical systems and where there is a risk of contact corrosion.
REMOVE THE WINDSCREEN
Follow the car manufacturer's instructions to remove the
windscreen.
ACTIVATING AND CLEANING
Wipe on - using a clean cloth, apply DINITROL 520 to the
black ceramic bonder of the windscreen. Wipe off with a
fresh cloth after DINITROL 520 has evaporated (approx 1
minute).
PRIMING
Shake the DINITROL 530 can vigorously for at least one minute
after loosening the steel ball. Apply DINITROL 530 onto
the activated ceramic border with long even strokes. For
best results use a woollen wiper. The drying time is 10
minutes. Paint-scratches on the flange should be covered
with DINITROL 530 for corrosion prevention.
PUR-RIM
Some vehicle windscreens are pre-treated with polyurethane
(e.g. many VW vehicles). The PUR on these screens must be
activated with DINITROL 540 on to the surface with a woollen
wiper and let it dry for 10 minutes. No further treatment
is necessary. The DINITROL polyurethane adhesive can be
applied after that the 540 has dried.
APPLYING ADHESIVE
Existing polyurethane bead must be trimmed to a thickness
of 1-2 mm. Freshly cut PUR-bead is an excellent base for
the polyurethane adhesive. Select the DINITROL polyurethane
adhesive that best suits your needs. Apply adhesive to the
edge of the glass or flange. Glass must be pre-treated in
accordance with the instructions above.
FITTING THE WINDSCREEN
The windscreen must be fitted before a skin forms on the
polyurethane bead. Temperature and relative humidity should
be measured and the Safe Drive - Away - Time established!
HANDLING PRECAUTION
DINITROL polyurethane products contain isocyanates. Please
read the material safety data sheets and the following user
instructions:
- Work in well ventilated areas
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes
- Wear protective gloves and glasses
- The pre - treatment products are highly flammable
